The New York Giants signed current starting quarterback Daniel Jones to a new contract extension just before the 2022 season, but it sounds like the team is looking to potentially bring in another quarterback in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft.

According to a report from NFL insider Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report, the New York Giants have already met with Michigan Wolverines star quarterback J.J. McCarthy as they craft their plan for the upcoming NFL Draft.

“Sources to @BleacherReport: Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy visited the #Giants last week, which included dinner with the front office and a tour of the facility,” Schultz said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Obviously, this doesn’t necessarily mean that the Giants plan to target McCarthy in the draft, but it does seem to indicate that the team is at least interested and entertaining it as a possibility.

McCarthy is widely considered the fourth-best quarterback in the draft behind Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels. The Giants have the No. 6 overall pick in the draft and the Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Chargers are not expected to pick a quarterback with picks No. 4 and No. 5 respectively.

So if the Giants want McCarthy, there’s a good chance they could get him.
