The situation has grown even more bleak in the San Diego area, after 2012 breakout receiver Danario Alexander tore his right ACL Tuesday. The 6-5 receiver proved last season that he can be a viable contributor after catching 37 balls, 658 yards and seven touchdowns, however expectations in 2013– are no more. Poor Philip Rivers! Pressure in San Diego has grown increasingly intense as fans around the city are expecting big things from a team who in my opinion fails to boast any true prominent stars. I mean seriously Ryan Matthews and Manti’ Teo? Common.
San Diego now must sort through a second tier stable of receivers that includes players such as: Malcolm Floyd, Vincent Brown, Eddie Royal, Robert Meachem and Keenan Allen.
This hurts.
