On Wednesday evening, the Los Angeles Chargers officially announced the hiring of new head coach Jim Harbaugh. And it sounds like the organization is going to have high expectations for their newest head coach.

During a statement following the hiring of Jim Harbaugh this week, Los Angeles Chargers president of football operations John Spanos made it clear that he thinks Harbaugh has one of the best and most proven track records of success of any coach at any level of football.

“You don’t build a resume like Jim’s by accident, and you don’t do it by yourself,” Spanos said in a statement. “You need a team. And nobody has built a team more successfully, and repeatedly, in recent history than Jim Harbaugh. His former players swear by him, and his opponents swear at him. Jim is one of one, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him back in the Chargers organization as our head coach.”

Harbaugh is fresh off leading the Michigan Wolverines to a College Football Playoff national championship. We’ll have to see whether or not he can lead the Chargers to a Super Bowl championship at the NFL level in the coming years.
