Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker created controversy over the weekend. Butker gave the commencement speech at Benedictine University, where he is not an alumnus, and touched on several subjects including LGTBQ rights, abortion, Joe Biden, and women in the workplace.
On women, Butker advised those in the graduating class that the most important title they could earn was “homemaker.”
“I can tell you that my beautiful wife, Isabelle, would be the first to say that her life truly started when she began living her vocation as a wife and a mother. I’m on this stage, and able to be the man I am, because I have a wife who leans into her vocation,” he said.
“I’m beyond blessed with the many talents god has given me, but it cannot be overstated that all of my success is made possible because a girl I met in band class back in middle school would convert to the faith, become my wife, and embrace one of the most important titles of all: homemaker.”
The Los Angeles Chargers, longtime rivals of the Chiefs, decided to have some fun with Butker’s comments during their schedule release video.

In the video, which features the Chargers showing their opponents in the Sims video game, Butker can be seen making a sandwich in the kitchen.
Numerous users applauded the effort on Twitter, which is currently being marketed as X.
