LeCharles Bentley is doing his best to prove that even retired athletes can post brutal images of their body. The former Saints and Browns center officially retired in 2009 after spending the 2008 season away from football. Although he suffered many injuries throughout his college and pro career, the most serious came during the first play of 2006 training camp, his first with the Browns after signing a $36 million contract as one of the top free agents. Bentley tore his patellar tendon and missed the season, having four surgeries to repair the tendon and also clear out two staph infections. There were reports that he nearly lost his leg after the infections and another virus began destroying his knee.
It’s unclear if that injury caused tendonitis but we can only assume it didn’t help:
Oh, "it just tendonitis"… I'm out, about to go "tough out" this leg workout. Could be worse! #Blessed 🙏 pic.twitter.com/RTad9wCIUl
