Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is the most accomplished active head coach in the entire league, and it sounds like he’s about to get a new contract that pays him what he’s worth.
According to a report from Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, the Kansas City Chiefs and Andy Reid are expected to begin contract negotiations “in the coming weeks” that will likely make Reid the highest-paid coach in the entire league.
“Coming off back-to-back Super Bowl wins, the Chiefs and Andy Reid are expected to begin negotiations in the coming weeks on a new contract that NFL sources believe should soon make Reid the highest-paid coach in football,” Pelissero wrote for NFL.com on Monday morning.
When this deal is finalized, it will be a well-deserved raise for a coach who has been one of the best in the league over the past several seasons and has accomplished more than any other active head coach.
With Bill Belichick no longer coaching in the NFL, Reid is the only active NFL head coach to have won multiple Super Bowl championships. He just won his third Lombardi Trophy earlier this month, and he’ll be back with the Chiefs next season to try to win his fourth.
