Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney has made his fair share of costly mistakes this year including a dropped pass that turned into an interception returned for a touchdown during a Week 1 loss to the Detroit Lions and lining up offsides to negate what would have been a game-winning touchdown against the Buffalo Bills. But it sounds like he still thinks quite highly of himself.
During an interview with the NFL Network during Monday’s Opening Night at Super Bowl LVIII, Kadarius Toney claimed that he can be a No. 1 receiver in the NFL if he gets the ball enough.
“Are you a No. 1 receiver in this league?” Toney was asked on Monday evening.
You a Number 1 WR in this league?

“Yeah, if I get it,” Toney said in response to the question. “If I get the ball, yeah.”
Obviously, this claim from Toney led to a lot of reactions on social media as the Chiefs wide receiver was absolutely blasted for the ridiculous statement given all of the issues he caused the team throughout the season.

Actions speak louder than words and according to your actions, you can’t even catch the ball https://t.co/rY1o92exHu

I watched this last night and couldn’t believe the complete lack of self awareness and humility.
You did get the ball. It routinely ended up in the other team’s hands (and end zone) after bouncing out of yours. https://t.co/do0l9WYhEp

Toney will have one last chance to make an impact for the Chiefs this season in Super Bowl LVIII – as long as he’s on the active roster for the game, that is.
