Jordan Love will be heading into his second season as the starting quarterback of the Green Bay Packers this offseason, but he’ll be without one key player this season with Aaron Jones no longer with the team. And it sounds like Love thinks that is a significant loss.
This offseason, the Packers signed former Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs as a free agent and then released Aaron Jones after he declined to take a pay cut for the 2024 season. And during a recent press conference, Jordan Love offered his reaction to losing Jones – as well as his excitement to play with Jacobs.
“Yeah, it was very tough,” Love said according to Pro Football Talk. “Aaron Jones is such a special player. Special guy in this locker room since I’ve been here. Everyone loved Aaron, and it was very tough. It was one of those things that you can’t control. Obviously getting Josh here has been awesome. Excited to see him on the field. He’s an awesome player. He’s been an awesome teammate so far. It’s been good getting to know him, and I’m excited to see what he can do this year.”
We’ll have to see how the Packers perform with Jacobs as the primary ball carrier.
