The Cincinnati Bengals will have star wide receiver Tee Higgins for at least one more season after the team used a franchise tag on the receiver in order to keep him on the roster for the 2024 season. And star quarterback Joe Burrow made it very clear that he is happy to have one of his top targets returning next season.
During a recent interview with Ben Baby of ESPN, Joe Burrow had a pretty clear message for Tee Higgins as he made it known how excited he is to have Higgins back with the team the following year and expressed his desire to have Higgins with the team for more years after that.
“Having him back this year,” Burrow told ESPN “obviously, I hope we’re going to have him longer, but it’s exciting for me to have him this year and then it’s a nice little payday for him. Then hopefully he gets another one here soon.”
It won’t be easy for the Bengals to find the salary cap space to keep Higgins, Burrow, and Ja’Marr Chase all on the roster at the same time, but Higgins will at least be with the Bengals for one more season as they pursue a Super Bowl title.
