Currently, American football is not an Olympic sport and will not be held at the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Paris this month. But flag football will be an Olympic event for the first time at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, and it sounds like Cincinnati Bengals superstar quarterback Joe Burrow would like to bring home the gold.
During a recent appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast, Joe Burrow made it very clear that he would like to compete at the 2028 games alongside a couple of his old college teammates.
“I really want to play for the Olympic flag football team,” Burrow said on the podcast according to Pro Football Talk. “Like Me, Ja’marr, Justin, Me and my friends out there playing football. . . . I think it’d be really cool.”
Obviously, this would be a pretty significant move from Burrow, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media as a result.

Let the non NFL players who have played the game their whole life get first crack before NFL Players.

Probably hurts his neck when the guy puts the medal on it & be out 2 mnths.

Burrow said that it would be “embarrassing” if the United States did not win the gold medal in the first year of the event, and inviting a few of the biggest NFL superstars to represent Team USA is probably a good way to avoid that embarrassment.
