Michigan Wolverines defensive coordinator Jesse Minter was a big reason for the team’s success over the past two seasons as he helped coordinate, call, and lead one of the most dominant defenses in the entire country. And as a result, head coach Jim Harbaugh is taking Minter with him as he becomes the next head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers.
According to a report from NFL insider Albert Breer, the Los Angeles Chargers are bringing on Jesse Minter as their next defensive coordinator.
“Source: The Chargers have finalized the hire of Jesse Minter as their new defensive coordinator. Big get for Jim Harbaugh, bringing over his DC of the last two years from Michigan,” Breer said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Michigan had the top scoring defense in the entire country this year, allowing opponents an average of just 10.4 points per game, which was a big reason why the defense was able to earn the top seed in the College Football Playoff and ultimately win the national championship.
This is a pretty significant hire for Harbaugh with the Chargers, but obviously a pretty big loss for Michigan as well.
