Jerry Jones can’t seem to get enough of good luck charm/New Jersey governor Chris Christie.
In an ESPN interview conducted on Tuesday, the Cowboys owner confirmed that he’d do everything in his power to make sure that Christie could attend the Cowboys-Packers game as Jones’s guest. Jones’s motivations for doing so may be based in luck as much as it is based in friendship. For those who are superstitious, the Cowboys have not lost a game in which Christie attended.
“Yes he will [be there], if I’ve got anything to do about it, and I’m going to try to have a lot to do about it. I want that orange sweater, and we want him there. We’ve had him in the locker room. It feels good to have him here. We do need all hands on deck to even come close to these Packers.”
Jones went on to say that if Christie ended up being a good omen for the Cowboys during the playoffs, then the governor would have his vote for president one day.
“If he’s got enough mojo to pull this thing off for this Cowboys team this year, I’m for him being the President of the United States.”
Slow your roll Jerry. The Cowboys still have to win on Sunday before you start thinking about an Inaugural Ball.
