Dak Prescott has been the starting quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys ever since his rookie season back in 2016, but he hasn’t been able to lead the team on a deep run into the playoffs in any of his eight seasons in the NFL. But it sounds like Cowboys team owner and general manager Jerry Jones still has faith in him.
During a recent interview at the NFL’s annual league meetings this weekend, Jerry Jones made it clear that just because Dak Prescott hasn’t been able to lead the Cowboys deep into the playoffs and to the Super Bowl doesn’t mean he isn’t capable.
“I think there are a handful or more of quarterbacks playing who haven’t won a Super Bowl that will win a Super Bowl,” Jones said according to David Moore of the Dallas Morning News. “I think Dak is one of them. I’m firm there. He’s one of the ones who can.”
Last season, the Cowboys had a strong regular season but fell in the postseason in a blowout loss to the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card round of the NFL Playoffs.
We’ll have to see if Prescott is able to lead them on a deeper run next season.
