Just before the Miami Dolphins began their season, the team locked up one of their star players for the next few years.
According to a report from Adam Schefter of ESPN, Jalen Ramsey, cornerback for the Miami Dolphins, has reached an agreement with the team on a three-year extension with the team. The extension is worth $24.1 million per year and makes Ramsey the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history, making it the second time he’s managed the feat.
This season Ramsey has guaranteed earnings of $55.3 million, which will give him the highest career earnings for a cornerback in the history of the NFL
Fans took to social media to weigh in on the market-defining contract, and a lot of people think the Dolphins overpaid.
All this for the Dolphins Defense to mediocre this season again…

Others think that Ramsey may have been overplaying the severity of his injury in an attempt to spurn the Dolphins to agree to an extension.

Maybe this will make his hamstring suddenly *feel* better

It’ll be interesting to see if Ramsey can live up to this deal as the Dolphins look to finally get over the hurdle this season.
Ramsey is nursing a calf injury, but he was still able to play for the Dolphins during their season-opening showdown against the Jaguars.
