J.J. Watt picked an easy target to promote his upcoming Rebook JJ II shoe release.
On Thursday, Watt sent out a tweet promoting his new shoes where he made a not-so-subtle dig at Lonzo Ball and the Big Baller Brand’s ZO2’s. With the ZO2’s insanely priced at $495, Watt pointed that for $400 cheaper you can get “100% more effective” shoes.
400 dollars less than some shoes on the market and 100% more effective.
Available tonight at midnight for $99.https://t.co/sU39iHQfcv pic.twitter.com/tHarE6JIfK

Are the JJ II’s more effective than the BBB ZO2’s? It’s hard to gauge, as one is specifically designed for the gym, while the other is made for the court. However, considering Ball’s recent change to Nike shoes, perhaps trying on Rebook could lead to another uptick in his game.
Aesthetically, they’re not all that special. It’s a simple design with no real flare – which is perfect for training I guess.
At this point, there’s nothing left to write about the ZO2’s. While they’re not hideous, the fact Lonzo won’t even rep the pair — plus the price point — is a clear sign it was a huge misstep for the Ball family. Plus, Watt — who doesn’t even play the same sport — is taking shots. It’s not great marketing for the Big Baller Brand. However, it’s great marketing for Watt.
J.J. gets the W here, even if his sparring partner was already DOA.
