Last year, Tom Brady and supermodel Gisele Bundchen went through a very public divorce as the star couple ended their marriage after 13 years, and Gisele is finally breaking her silence about the whole separation.
But during a recent interview with the New York Times, Bundchen shut down rumors that she was cheating on Tom Brady before their marriage ended, and she sent a pretty brutal message to Brady about what she felt about the state of their marriage, describing it as “an unhealthy relationship” that she had “the courage to leave.”
“This is something that happens to a lot of women who get blamed when they have the courage to leave an unhealthy relationship and are labeled as being unfaithful,” Bundchen told the New York Times. “They have to deal with their communities. They have to deal with their family. Of course for me, it just happens to be a little bit amplified.”
Bundchen did not go into too many specifics about what made the relationship unhealthy, however.
“No one really knows what happens between two people, only the two people in the relationship,” Bundchen said.
Whatever happened between them, it’s clear that Bundchen felt the relationship had to end.
