Michael Vick

Do not pull the “trendy” card and select Mr. Vick with a pick inside the top 12-13 rounds, pegging him as your No. 1 QB in doing so. While many expect Vick to start at least a handful of ballgames for Rex Ryan, it is unlikely he will be a relevant fantasy force for 10-plus games.

His biggest concern as he aims for that relevant force? Turnovers. Quite simply, the dude cannot hold onto the ball.

The Marty Mornhinweg reunion in New York is beneficial but is not reason for overzealous auction spending or foolish mid-round selections, with heavy  pessimistic emphasis placed on his inability hold onto the football. Vick has lost 16 fumbles over the past four years, in only 42 games.

The firepower remains, as Vick was a top three fantasy QB through the first quarter of last season before injury forced Nick Foles into the starting spot. His rushing remains a threat, as he averaged nearly 45 yards in those games and did pass for over 1200 yards on only 141 attempts in 2013.

The veteran is ranked between 23-28 by most services, with the majority agreeing he holds higher fantasy value for the 2014 season than Geno Smith. It’s not a bad move to select Vick with a garbage 13-15th rounder but only carry him if you have reliable names at wide receiver and running back.
