Taylor Swift has been pretty clear about her political beliefs in recent years as she has spoken out against former United States President Donald Trump and endorsed Joe Biden over him in the 2020 presidential election. But Trump recently questioned whether or not those views were legitimate.
In an upcoming book titled “Apprentice in Wonderland: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett Took America Through the Looking Glass,” written by Variety co-editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh, Donald Trump questioned whether or not Taylor Swift was “legitimately liberal” or if it was “just an act.”
“She is liberal, or is that just an act?” he asked Setoodeh during their interview. “She’s legitimately liberal? It’s not an act? It surprises me that a country star can be successful being liberal.”
Of course, Swift has not written country music in about a decade, but Trump admits that he has not exactly paid much attention to her music.
“Don’t know it well,” Trump admitted about Swift’s music.
Swift is obviously one of the most famous and influential individuals on the planet, and that has only been amplified since she began dating Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce. Her support would mean a lot for any presidential candidate.
