Star running back Derrick Henry was the focal point of the offense during his time with the Tennessee Titans. But now that he is joining the Baltimore Ravens, that will no longer be the case as he will share a backfield with reigning MVP Lamar Jackson. And it sounds like he’s quite pleased about that development.
During a recent interview, Derrick Henry made it clear that he is excited about the fact that he will no longer be “the center of attention” from opposing defenses, given that he has Lamar Jackson to take some of the attention off of him.
“It definitely brings a different aspect, because he is a dual-threat quarterback, and he’s dangerous with his legs just as he is with his arm,” Henry said according to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic. “It’s going to be fun and a breath of fresh air not being the center of attention, knowing that eyes are going to be on him, as well. But I’m just excited to get to work and put the work in out here and let it all come together.”
Henry has established himself as one of the most dominant running backs in the league and Jackson is obviously one of the most prolific athletes at the quarterback position in NFL history. We’ll have to see how they fare sharing a backfield together.
