D’Brickashaw Ferguson just seems like an awesome dude.
The 32-year-old offensive tackle called it quits last week after a stellar 10-year career. He is the latest player to step away from the game despite having more in the tank, at least from an outside perspective.
Even though his situation is nothing like Chris Borland, Jason Worilds or other young NFL players who retired early, it was still a surprising decision.
Ferguson discussed his retirement in an excellent letter posted to his Twitter account on Saturday morning:
