Houston Texans young star quarterback C.J. Stroud added a big weapon this offseason when the team acquired veteran star wide receiver Stefon Diggs in a trade with the Buffalo Bills. And it sounds like Stroud is already quite impressed with what he’s seen from Diggs.
During a recent press conference, C.J. Stroud had some high praise for what Stefon Diggs has brought to the team both on the field and off the field, saying that Diggs has “been a leader.”
“Diggs is fitting in great, he’s come in with his head down and just working,” Stroud said according to DJ Bien-Amie of ESPN. “He’s helping me out a lot. He’s come in and been a leader, which I’m proud of him for. He’s been unselfish and wanted to see other guys eat. That was his main thing he wanted to be around dogs. He stepped into that role where there’s a dog everywhere.”
Diggs has been one of the more consistent players in the league, racking up over 1,000 receiving yards in six consecutive seasons. But it sounds like he is making an impact for the team in the locker room as well, which is certainly something that Stroud and the team welcome.
