Veteran tight end Mike Gesicki had a big season with the Miami Dolphins in 2021, catching 73 passes, but he has not been able to replicate that production since with the Dolphins the following year, or with the New England Patriots last year. So after signing a one-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals, it’s safe to say that he’s eager to prove himself.
Mike Gesicki said that he “would like to think” that he is still capable of putting up the numbers that he totaled in 2021, but he understands that he’s going to have to prove himself once again now that he’s with the Bengals and playing with star quarterback Joe Burrow.
“New team, new staff, new quarterback. Everything is new for me,” Gesicki said according to the Cincinnati Bengals team website. “So I have to go out there and earn the trust. It’s more proving what I’m capable of doing and earning more and more opportunities once the football starts. It’s only April. A long way to go.”
We’ll have to see whether or not playing alongside Joe Burrow in this prolific Cincinnati Bengals offense will help Gesicki get back to the dominant form that he showed off back in 2021.
