After getting sentenced to 30 days in jail following an ill-advised courtroom butt slap, former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson has been released from prison after just seven days.
On Monday, Johnson was brought in once again to face Judge McHugh, the judge who made the decision to deny Johnson a plea deal after he slapped his lawyer on the butt during a probation violation hearing stemming from the domestic violence arrest involving Johnson’s then-wife, Evelyn Lozada.
According to TMZ, McHugh again “blasted” Johnson for his history of disrespectful behavior and called his alleged assault on Lozada “horrific” before agreeing to release him. McHugh also extended Johnson’s probation by another month.
Seems like the judge may have realized that her initial sentence was a bit of an overreaction on her part. Johnson should have landed some jail time for the domestic assault, not the butt-slap.
