Dallas Cowboys superstar wide receiver CeeDee Lamb missed all of the team’s offseason workouts – voluntary and mandatory – as he sought a new contract from the team. And it sounds like he’s willing to skip the team’s training camp unless he gets the contract that he is seeking from the team.
According to a report from Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News, CeeDee Lamb is prepared to skip training camp if he and the Cowboys are not able to work out a new contract before that point. He also reports that there has been “little progress” on a deal that would keep him with the Cowboys.
“There’s been little progress on extensions for Prescott and Lamb this summer. For the second consecutive year, there’s a possibility a key starter will hold out of training camp. Lamb missed the entire offseason program and is expected to miss training camp if he doesn’t get a new deal,” Watkins wrote for the Dallas Morning News on Monday.
Lamb is headed into the final year of his rookie contract after the team picked up his fifth-year option. After posting three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons and topping 1,700 receiving yards this past season, he is seeking a pay raise and a contract that will keep him with the Cowboys for the foreseeable future. And he’s willing to hold out from training camp in order to get that contract.
