Cam Newton may be one damn good NFL quarterback but the Panthers player recently got the opportunity to test out how his considerable skills would translate to the Australian Football League in this new spot for Gatorade.
As it turns out, just because you’re really good at one sport doesn’t mean that you’re naturally going to be incredibly at another sport that shares the same name.
During his training with the Richmond Tigers, it seems that Cam was pretty hard on himself, especially when it came to his attempts at accurately kicking the ball.
Still, the message that Cam learned through his AFL training should be valuable, no matter what the sport:
“I have to be more consistent and disciplined in my sport as well. Everyone has 24 hours in a day. What are you going to do with yours that’s going to achieve what you want?”
And hey, it appears that Cam got the hang of Australian football during his trip as well judging by that winning smile that he can be seen flashing during the video’s training montage.
