The Tampa Bay Buccaneers let go of head coach Lovie Smith on Wednesday after two seasons.
Smith went just 8-24 with the Bucs, but the team saw improvement in his second season going 6-10 with rookie quarterback Jameis Winston taking over at the position. Regardless, Smith is will no longer be patrolling the Tampa Bay sideline, and some players were flat-out baffled:

Linebacker Lavonte David, on the other hand, likely saw this one coming. He tweeted his displeasure about the organization being unable hire and hold on to a coach.
