It’s been a year of lows for the Cleveland Browns. The Browns began the season with DeShaun Watson as the starting quarterback, but he was arguably the worst starter in the NFL before going down with an Achilles injury.
Veteran Jameis Winston replaced Watson, and while he provided a spark to the offense, he struggled with turning the ball over. The Browns then turned to young quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson.
Unfortunately, Thompson-Robinson didn’t meet expectations. Now, as they start looking forward to who could be at play as a starter for next season, the Browns are naming yet another starting quarterback, per one prominent NFL insider.
“Browns QB Bailey Zappe will start in Saturday’s regular-season finale vs. the Ravens, as (Tom Withers) reported,” revealed ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Thursday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Was Winston really that bad that he’s not getting a shot again? Probably the most fun thing about the browns this year,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“This year has been a mess for the Browns. Im hoping they bounce back next year but not gonna hold my breath,” added another fan.
“What would the Browns give to have Bakker Mayfield back?” asked another fan.
It’ll be interesting to see who the starter in Cleveland is next year.
