The Patriots appeared to take the lead against the Chargers when LaDarius Green was nearly killed by Brandon Browner, the ball was forced into the air, and the Patriots picked it and returned it all the way. But the refs ended up calling Browner for a helmet-to-helmet hit. No touchdown.
First of all — and most importantly — let’s hope Green is alright. He stayed down for a bit. But second of all, that was not a helmet-to-helmet hit. Now, Cris Collinsworth just made a case that it could have been a hit on a defenseless receiver, but that’s not what the refs called.
But it turns out the ball doesn’t lie, as Rivers was just picked off to end the Chargers’ drive.
