Legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady has managed to stay extremely relevant in the NFL post his retirement from the game. Brady not only now calls games as a member of the premiere broadcast team for FOX, but is also a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders.

As impressive as Brady’s post-playing career success has been, not everyone is too thrilled with how things are unraveling.

Brady has previously indicated that he intends to remain with FOX for the duration of his contract with the network, despite his role with the Raiders and the insider information he has access to and obvious rooting interests.

Boomer Esiason, a former NFL quarterback himself, has taken exception to the situation and Brady’s intention to continue playing both sides.

“Yeah, it’s 100% a conflict of interest but that $375 million that FOX game Tom Brady to do this ten-year deal probably was a lot of money that went into the Raiders I would think,” Esiason said in an appearance on CBS Sports.

Fans reacted to Esiason’s take on social media.

“The Raiders have been (bad) for 20 years. Lets worry about it if they actually start winning. Until then its a nothing burger,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“These guys see a double standard . And (are willing ) to call it out. Fox is paying big rights fees, and told Goodell, this is happening. Shut up and cash them checks. He just won’t say/do any Raiders stuff. Like broadcasters not talking spreads if they calling game,” one fan added.

“As long as the raiders continue to be terrible, idc. Just means the conflict of interest isn’t amounting to anything,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see if the league decides to step in and force Brady out of one of the roles at some point.
