Many fans expected the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to fade out of relevance after the retirement of NFL legend and arguably the greatest quarterback in league history, Tom Brady. However, Brady’s step-in has refused to let that happen.
After leaving both the Cleveland Browns and Carolina Panthers unceremoniously, Baker Mayfield has proved that he deserves to be a starter in the NFL. It’s hard to argue there are many, if any quarterbacks as critical to their team’s success as Mayfield has been for Tampa Bay.
This season alone, with one more game to go, Mayfield has thrown for 4,279 yards and 39 touchdowns, and the Buccaneers are positioned in first place in the NFC South.
However, not everyone seems to think Mayfield’s performance to this point is impressive. The NFC released its Pro Bowl rosters on Thursday, and one quarterback was notably snubbed.
The NFC’s quarterback representatives this season are Jayden Daniels, Sam Darnold, and Jared Goff, according to NFL insider Ari Meirov.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Baker mayfield disrespect continues,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Sad to see Baker Mayfield missed the cut,” another fan added.
“No Baker is criminal if we’re letting Sam Darnold in,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Mayfield can prove voters wrong with a deep playoff push.
