Atlanta Falcons helmets Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports

After both Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke struggled for the Atlanta Falcons this past season, the team has made it very clear that they intended to make some big changes at the quarterback position this offseason. And it sounds like there’s a chance the team could land the top free-agent quarterback on the market.

According to a report from NFL insider Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Kirk Cousins is “seriously considering” moving to Atlanta and signing with the Falcons this offseason.

“We can’t get into the specifics, for now. But we’re getting very credible indications that Cousins is seriously considering moving his family to Atlanta. Which would mean, obviously, that he’d be signing with the Falcons,” Florio wrote for Pro Football Talk.

“The Falcons have always been the top alternative to the Vikings for Cousins, who becomes an unrestricted free agent next Wednesday. And for good reason. His wife, Julie, grew up in nearby Alpharetta, Georgia. Her parents still live there.”

Obviously, this would be a massive move for the Falcons as the team is in desperate need of a quarterback, and the NFL world had a lot to say about it on social media.

We’ll have to see if this ultimately happens.
