Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson missed the vast majority of his rookie year after suffering a season-ending shoulder injury just a few weeks into the season. But after several months of healing and rehab, it sounds like the young quarterback is finally back to full speed.
During a recent appearance on the GM Shuffle podcast, Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard gave a pretty important update on Anthony Richardson as he revealed that the young quarterback will be “full-go” when the team begins their preseason camp next month.
“He’ll be full-go,” Ballard said on the podcast according to NFL.com. “He was full-go all the way up until the last day of OTAs, and we had two heavy throwing sessions the two days before, and so we backed off a little on the last day.”
Richardson showed flashes of his potential game-breaking ability during the first few games of the season last year before he was sidelined with the injury, so it will certainly be interesting to see how he performs this season. The Colts will also be hoping that he can stay healthy and available given that his style of play often results in him taking more hits than the average quarterback.
