Aaron Jones Syndication: Journal Sentinel

On Monday, the Green Bay Packers decided to part ways with longtime running back Aaron Jones as the team instead decided to roll with Josh Jacobs as their starting running back, signing him to the team as a free agent. But it sounds like the Packers will now have to face their former starting running back twice during the regular season.

According to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Aaron Jones has decided to sign with the Minnesota Vikings after he was released from the Green Bay Packers on Monday.

“Staying in the NFC North: Sources tell me and @TomPelissero that former #Packers RB Aaron Jones is expected to sign with the #Vikings, just a day after being released in Green Bay. This sets up two revenge games next year. He gets a 1-year, $7M deal,” Rapoport said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Jones has played his entire career up to this point with the Green Bay Packers after they selected him in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

We’ll have to see how Jones performs for his new team next season, especially when he takes on the Packers.
