The Green Bay Packers decided to move on from longtime running back Aaron Jones this offseason, deciding to replace him with veteran star Josh Jacobs during free agency and cut him loose. But after Jones signed with the division-rival Minnesota Vikings, it sounds like he’s now excited about a potential revenge game in Lambeau Field.
During a recent interview, Aaron Jones made it clear that he is excited to have a chance to return to Green Bay this season and to “make a statement” to his former team.
“It’s going to be fun,” Jones said according to Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. “It’s going to be a lot of fun. I’m just, ball. You know what it is? I mean, I’ve played in hostile situations, hostile areas, whatever. But to me, at the end of the day, it’s just going to be ball. I’m going back to where I used to play at the end of the day, but it’s just ball. Just go out there and make a statement.”
Jones spent his entire seven-year career with the Packers before the team decided to cut him loose this offseason. It sounds like he wants to make them pay for that decision.
