The San Francisco 49ers recently made the decision to release defensive lineman Ray McDonald due to “a pattern of poor behavior” and they even took the extra step of removing a 2012 profile of McDonald from their website.

McDonald is currently being investigated in a sexual assault case. He was also at the center of a domestic violence investigation earlier this year although charges were never filed.
For those wondering what the article was about, it was essentially a puff piece collection of quotes that the 49ers were able to get from McDonald and others in the 49ers organization on McDonald’s character (he doesn’t have a sack dance, enjoys Frank Sinatra, etc). It ends with this quote from McDonald:
I think you receive what you give. I know I’m a good guy to people. In return, they want to be a good guy back to me – that’s what that means to me. Everybody loves Ray because they know what type of person they’re getting. I’m not going to talk behind anybody’s back. I’m going to come in, work hard and treat everyone with respect. I think that’s why everybody is cool with me. They give me what I give them and that’s respect.
The rest of the article can be found here thanks to Eric Malinowski:
