It pains me to inform you that Lacey Holsworth, the delightful 8-year-old who fearlessly battled cancer and became good friends with Michigan State University basketball star Adreian Payne, has passed away. Lacey’s social media accounts reported the sorrowful news early Wednesday morning.
Lacey was in the public spotlight after Adreian Payne met when her at the Sparrow Hospital over a year ago. Despite Lacey battling neuroblastoma she was often seen at Spartan games rooting for Payne. Just last week she was in New York City to see Payne and the Spartans in the Elite Eight and Sweet 16 as well as her “Superman” participating in the College Slam Dunk Contest in Texas this past week.
