Usually, wagers involving tattoos are usually reserved for who loses a bet but Urban Meyer will now have to get a tattoo because of Ohio State’s victory over Oregon in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.
Meyer had reportedly promised to get a tattoo if the team won the National Championship after the Buckeyes beat Alabama in the semifinal. Now that Ohio State’s victory has come to pass, Buckeye players plan to hold Meyer to his word.
“He promised us after we beat ‘Bama in the locker room that if we won the next one, he’d get a tattoo,” said OSU tight end Jeff Heuerman. “The first thing that went through my head [after defeating Oregon] is, Coach Meyer’s getting a tattoo.”
While Meyer did not specify what sort of tattoo he’d get, an Ohio State “O” is definitely being encouraged by Meyer’s players.
“I’ll be here bugging him about it until he gets it,” defensive end Joey Bosa said. “I’ll go with him (to the tattoo parlor). I’ve already got my Block O.”
