Last week, Ohio State Buckeyes head baseball coach Bill Mosiello abruptly decided to resign from his position. But the way he left has many fans quite a bit unhappy.
In a recent interview with Colin Gay of the Columbus Dispatch, Mosiello explained that the reason he decided to resign was so he could return to his old assistant coaching position with the TCU Horned Frogs and be with his family once again.
“It was the easiest decision ever. I’ve got to be with my family,” Mosiello told the Columbus Dispatch. “I’ve been away from my family for the past two years. So that was it. Columbus was awesome. The people were awesome. It’s a horrible situation having to leave the players and the way it has to go. There’s just no right way to do it.”
While that’s certainly understandable, Mosiello also revealed that he did not have time to tell the team himself before the move was announced publicly, and he also did not meet with Ohio State athletic director Ross Bjork about the decision because “I didn’t want him to talk me out of leaving.” Those decisions sparked outrage among Ohio State fans.
Family first, no doubt about it…but not meeting with the players and ghosting your AD is nasty work… https://t.co/nCJBTo2dFZ

What a loser. He was never committed to Ohio State or else he would have moved his family to Columbus. Good riddance. Ohio State deserves better.

Needless to say, the fans were not at all happy about the way he chose to leave.
