For their Monday night game against Notre Dame, North Carolina will wear “STU” patches to honor the memory of Stuart Scott, who was an alumnus of the Tar Heels.
Scott’s passing has led to innumerable touching tributes and it is very clear that Stuart Scott left a lasting and positive impact on those who knew him personally and those who merely had the privilege of watching him work. UNC’s gesture is a pretty damn great one and a nice acknowledgement of a sports media legend whose impact on sports journalism cannot be understated.
Tar Heel fans also plan to pay homage to Scott tonight with signs and by shouting one of Stuart Scott’s (seemingly infinite) signature catchphrases during the game.

UNC fans chanting "Boo-yah" after each made three tonight, in honor of fellow Heel Stuart Scott. Pretty cool.
