Jameis Winston intends to declare for the NFL draft, according to ESPN’s David Hale. The Florida State quarterback’s father told Hale that his son will not exhaust his final two years of eligibility and will instead begin an NFL career.

Winston had initially planned to wait until after Monday’s national title game to reach a decision but apparently was comfortable deciding by Tuesday evening. The highly criticized former Heisman Trophy winner and national champion is expected to be selected within the first 10 picks but things could change significantly over the next four months.
