College basketball season and ESPN’s 24-hour tip-off marathon is officially underway. Oh, and look! It didn’t take very long for some March-esque intensity to show up.
UMass Amherst took on Manhattan in a Tuesday afternoon matinee and the game had quite the finish in the second half. Down by two points with .8 seconds left in regulation, Manhattan ran an awesome inbounds play that led to a game-tying alley-oop as time expired, sending the game to overtime.
UMass ended up winning the game in overtime, but props to Manhattan’s clever play-calling to go down swinging.
