Amar’e Stoudemire was just one of the many professionals to show his support for Louisville guard Kevin Ware after Ware went down with a gruesome broken leg against Duke. Stoudemire’s support hasn’t stopped with just a message on Twitter however. The New York Knicks big has teamed up with company Build-A-Head to donate 1,000 Kevin Ware big heads to Louisville for their upcoming Final Four matchup against Wichita State.
The Louisville marketing team had originally come up with the idea to make the big heads for their Final Four game, but after contacting Build-A-Head, decided that the $2,500 price tag to make the cardboard cutouts was just too steep. That’s when Build-A-Head’s founder, Bryan Price, stepped in and contacted Stoudemire.
The two had previously worked with each other for Stoudemire’s chairty, and after explaining the situation, Stoudemire happily covered the cost to get the big heads to Atlanta.
The Kevin Ware heads have the hashtag #WinForWare on the back and will be passed out to students and fans before Louisville’s matchup against Wichita State.
