Texas Tech alum Jane Kuykendall has still got it, and is gaining massive media attention for her incredible cheerleading ability even at the ripe old age of 93. And here she is nailing a split at Saturday’s homecoming game.
Enrolling at the university in 1939, she explains that things have changed in the cheer game since then:
We led the band when we made successes. And we would march from the football field down to College Avenue and Broadway…We did no pyramids. We didn’t do anything in cheerleading — we just were doing cheerleading.
Keeping up with the times, Kuykendall became a household name in Texas Tech in 2011 when her splitting ability was discovered.
And we’ll see if she can keep it going past 100.
