The intentional pass to one’s self off of a defender is usually reserved for out of bounds plays when a defender has his back to the sidelines, however Russ Westbrook found a new way to utilize the play. During Oklahoma City Thunder’s 92-90 win over the Detroit Pistons Westbrook found himself in the air with no clear bucket in sight (classic Westbrook), and no teammates to pass it to. Instead Westbrook bounced the ball off of defender Brandon Knight, scooped up the ball and scored an easy layup.
