The Celtics were trailing the Detroit Pistons by a score of 66-54 when Rajon Rondo made a fairly large mental error. Rondo tried his best to draw a foul in the lane but the officials were not having any of it. Rondo got angry and started jawing at referee Sean Wright which was obviously not working. In frustration, Rondo then tossed the ball at Wright which took him by surprise and it nailed him in his chest. From that point it was a simple ejection call, and Rondo was lost for the game. The Pistons took advantage of the shorthanded Celtics and won the game by a score of 90-78. Video of the incident is below:
