The latest national crisis involving Derrick Rose surfaced last night when it appeared the sidelined Bulls guard casually snatched a jersey — a Derrick Rose jersey — from some little kid sitting court side at the Kings-Bulls game. I’ll ignore — for a moment — the fact I hate this kid (because I hate all kids who sit court side) and focus on the part where Rose stole the jersey. Well, at least that’s what folks (who were not there) said on Twitter:
GOOD GUY DERRICK RT @SBN_Ricky: D-Rose just stole this little dude’s jersey https://t.co/YgmYToNdPH — Avinash Kunnath (@avinashkunnath) November 21, 2014

Lmao Derrick rose just took a little kids jersey instead of signing it #MVP — Dom Bies (@Dom_Bies) November 21, 2014
Did… Did Derrick Rose just take that kids jersey and walk away?

Here’s how I know Rose didn’t steal the jersey: because we would have heard about it from someone who actually was there. Also, Rose is a walking (err, hobbling) PR nightmare right now. If he did walk off with some kid’s jersey, he’d basically be Hitler.
There’s also the part where once a player posts up signing autographs on the court or near the tunnel, it’s basically “Game On” for an impromptu autograph session, and you never know when that shit show will end. Rose probably took it back into the tunnel, signed it and had someone give it back to the kid. Regardless, this whole thing is stupid.
