Michal Jordan is a 24-year-old Czechoslovakian who plays for the Carolina Hurricanes. He has only appeared in eight NHL games in his career, and only three so far this season. Tuesday night, the Hurricanes took on the Nashvilled Predators, and Nashville’s broadcast team decided to have a little fun at the defenseman’s expense, comparing him to a certain NBA Hall of Famer who also happened to grow up in North Carolina and currently owns a professional basketball team there.
It would appear part of this is Michal’s fault, as his Twitter handle contains the number “23”, leaving the door open for some good-natured trolling. His actual number is “29”, so maybe he should switch to that to get people off his back.
