Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President Basketball Operations, announced today that Golden State Warriors head coach Mark Jackson has been slapped with a $25,000 fine for making public comments ‘in an attempt to influence the officiating.’ Mark Jackson’s comments were in regards to the Nuggets physicality against Stephen Curry in Game 5.
In game 5, being down 3-1 the Nuggets wanted to bring a level of physicality back to the game and make sure Steph Curry didn’t feel like he was out there on his backyard hoop. Warriors Coach, Mark Jackson took exception, saying he had an “inside source” on the Nuggets who gave him the head’s up on their “dirty” game plan of taking cheap shots at Curry. Makes for an interesting game 6 in a series that’s already extremely chippy.
