Snapchat – it’s not just for sexting disappearing naked pics any more. Companies are realizing the advertising potential for the upstart photo messaging app, and McDonald’s has jumped onto the Snapchat scene last week. To promote the fast food’s account they enlisted a pretty big spokesperson – none other than LeBron James.
With over 77 percent of college students using Snapchat at least once every single day, this presents an opportunity to connect with young consumers.
“We are excited to use Snapchat as a way to share the fun side of our brand with this highly engaged audience of millennials,” said Rick Wion, director of social media for McDonald’s.
James shared a behind-the-scenes photo on Snapchat while filming a commercial for McDonald’s new sandwich on Tuesday. Finally I can satisfy my dirty fast food cravings with photos from Snapchat now.
