LeBron James held a Q&A session on Twitter Friday night, and one person asked the Miami Heat forward if he would ever consider playing in an NFL game. LeBron’s response: “I wanna play one NFL game before it’s over”. Now, if our crystal ball is accurate, LeBron’s comments will spark another round of “could LeBron play in the NFL?” debates and analysis, which will keep everyone occupied for the next week-and-a-half until we finally get to meaningful basketball games.
However, it’s worth revisiting that two years ago, when the NBA was mired in a lockout, Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll caused a stir when he had a custom LeBron Seahawks jersey made up. It was a light-hearted moment during a rough time for NBA fans, so anything to deflect from the misery of the lockout was much welcome — even if it was never going to come to fruition.
